THE PROCESS
A few steps to a useful result.
- 01
Enter a product page and visible price
Use the product URL, the current price displayed to an ordinary shopper and its three-letter currency. Enter digits and a decimal point without a currency symbol.
- 02
Compare active offers
The checker reads Product JSON-LD and its offers. Offer.price takes precedence over an active price specification; regular strikethrough and member prices are considered separately.
- 03
Resolve ambiguous or stale offers
Multiple variants or offers may need manual selection. Review currency, current price and date windows, then check the checkout and merchant feed separately.
GOOD QUESTIONS
Before you use the results.
Should the regular price be the active sale price?
No. Google's merchant guidance separates the active offer from a regular strikethrough price. A StrikethroughPrice specification should not replace the current active offer price.
Are missing sale dates automatically invalid?
No. The checker can recommend useful date information. It flags inconsistent or expired dates when present rather than treating every missing date as a failure.
