Run a check to see measured values, matched rules and specific next steps.

THE PROCESS

A few steps to a useful result.

  1. 01

    Fetch the public page

We inspect the returned HTML and X-Robots-Tag headers. Rules specific to Googlebot are considered alongside general directives.

  2. 02

    Find restrictive controls

Review noindex, nosnippet, max-snippet and data-nosnippet. Conflicting controls need the more restrictive interpretation.

  3. 03

    Verify your Search Console setting

The Include/Exclude generative AI setting is private to Search Console. Check the effective setting and inherited parent-property settings yourself.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you use the results.

Does noai switch Google AI results off?

Google does not document noai or noimageai as supported robots meta directives. Use supported preview controls and verify the Search Console generative AI setting.

Does data-nosnippet="false" disable the attribute?

No. data-nosnippet is a boolean attribute on supported span, div and section elements. Its presence applies even when the value is false.
