THE PROCESS

A few steps to a useful result.

  1. 01

Check an article or content page

Enter its public HTTPS URL. We inspect representative image metadata and fetch the image bytes to measure their actual dimensions.

  2. 02

    Review size and permissions

Google recommends at least 1,200 pixels of width, more than 300,000 total pixels and a thoughtful landscape crop. Large previews need permission through max-image-preview:large or AMP.

  3. 03

    Look at the crop yourself

Check whether a 16:9 crop preserves faces, products and important details. A technical result cannot decide visual relevance or guarantee Discover distribution.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you use the results.

Can declared image dimensions prove the file is large enough?

No. The tool measures the fetched image itself. Open Graph width and height declarations alone are not verified dimensions.

Is a 16:9 image mandatory?

Google recommends thoughtful landscape images and a useful 16:9 presentation. A different ratio is a review item, not an automatic policy failure.
