Define what the shot must accomplish
Write the narrative purpose in a sentence. For the map scene, the viewer should understand that the character has found a route and is deciding whether to follow it.
That purpose determines what must remain visible: the map, the character's attention, and the movement toward the destination. A dramatic background is secondary.
Describe the beginning and end of the shot. At the start, the map is being placed down. At the end, the viewer can see the chosen location and the character's hesitation.
If your revision request does not support this purpose, question whether it belongs in the shot. A new lighting treatment may help the mood. An elaborate camera move that hides the map may make the storytelling worse.

Replace broad feedback with an observable request. “More dramatic” can mean lighting, framing, pace, contrast, or performance. Ask which of those is actually wrong.

Change one important variable per candidate when practical. This helps you understand which revision improved the shot.
Keep a candidate log
Give each attempt an identifier and record the change requested. Include the source asset, relevant settings, and the reason a candidate was accepted or rejected.
A useful note is “Candidate C preserves the map, but the hand crosses the marker too early.” An unhelpful note is “C is weird.”
Keep the currently approved shot clearly identified. Generating another candidate should not erase the version the editor can already use.
